Please post your initial theological topics that you are interested in. I recommend that you download the draft of my book and look at the table of contents. This will orient you on how theological topics are typically organized. I also recommend that you read the Major Theological Systems post.

Hello, I am a retired military chaplain. My theological education and practice backgrounds are mixed: Wesleyan (AB, MDiv), Charismatic, and Reformed (ThM). I also have a secular PhD. My theological interests are in examining challenging scriptures and Biblical assumptions.

Wow – what a blessing to have you as part of this discussion group! I will contact you separately and we can hopefully meet up in person. I would love to hear more about your theological journey as well as your PhD work.

background is Nazarene/Wesleyan – grandson of a Naval chaplain and Nazarene pastor, and great-grandson of a Nazarene church planter – ironically my parents are now Baptist so there’s that.
My theological interests are usually centered around faith in action, how to exercise both biblical love with biblical shrewdness – community engagement as an expression of my faith in action – and anything else that revolves around the OT covenant vs the NT covenant and what that means as a ‘gentile’ disciple.

I’m interested in our individual and corporate identity as Christians and as the Church. I guess that’s ecclesiology ; ). As God is relational within the trinity, I believe that we as His image bearers are too. What are the implications of that? How do we relate to one another as members of His Body? “By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.” Sounds important. How do we do this?
