REB THEOLOGY

Theological Discussions and Resources

Welcome to REB Theology, a theology blog and resource site (my initials are REB). It is intended to provide theological information and to host interactive discussions. This is the home page. To return here from anywhere else, click on HOME or the religious symbols graphic. The latest posts can be seen by clicking on BLOG. You are encouraged to click on RESOURCES, which will bring up a page that includes a number of free systematic theology textbooks in pdf format, in addition to other material. You can also ask specific theological questions by clicking on QUESTIONS.

Here is some guidance for those new to the site. Theological terms can take a while to learn. An extensive glossary of theological terms can be found in Christian Theology and Denominational Variations that can be downloaded on the RESOURCES page. Those new to theology are encouraged to read the Introduction to Theology post. Those interested in specific theological topics can click on TOPICS to view posts by category.

This is a Christian site, and theological discussions are supposed to assume the theological authority of the Bible. Respectful debate and difficult questions are encouraged, but please do so in Christian love and in non-offensive language and tone. Non-Christians of all sorts are welcome, especially if they would genuinely like to learn more about Christian theology.

The major “flavors” of orthodox theology are Roman Catholicism, Lutheranism, Reformed/Presbyterian, and Arminian/Methodist. The symbols above represent these four systems. From left to right, the symbols are the Chi Rho (symbol of the Roman Catholic Church), the Lutheran Cross, the Presbyterian Seal, and the Methodist Cross and Flame. Brief descriptions of these systems and some others are provided in the Major Theological Systems post. Descriptions of other major Christian denominations and their associated theological systems are available through the Denominations Topic. I hope that you enjoy this site as a theology blog and resource, and that it is a blessing in your life.
